Where ClientClose wins
Fewer transactions become questions. If the receipt arrives with the charge, there is nothing to ask about. ClientClose collects the source documents on a monthly checklist, which shrinks the uncategorized list before you ever have to send it.
It handles the documents Uncat doesn't touch. Bank statements, loan agreements, payroll reports, signed forms — the rest of the month-end list that has nothing to do with coding a transaction.
The receipt becomes the entry. AI reads vendor, date, tax and total and posts the expense to QuickBooks Online or Xero in one click, so the answer and the documentation arrive together.
One flat price. Per-client pricing is cheap per client and less cheap at forty of them. ClientClose is $35/month with clients included.
Where Uncat might fit better
We'd rather be honest than oversell. Uncat is genuinely excellent at its one job, and it is inexpensive. If the only thing you want to automate is the monthly "what was this charge?" list, and your clients are otherwise good at sending documents, buy Uncat — nothing here is going to beat it on price or simplicity for that specific task.
ClientClose stays deliberately narrow: getting documents in from clients and getting receipts into the books. If that's your bottleneck, a broader tool is cost and complexity you don't need. If it isn't, Uncat may genuinely be the better buy.
